Top 5, Top 5, Top 5

Kandy, Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is a pearl-shaped Island nation in South Asia! This country took me by surprise particularly because before living in Asia , I had NEVER heard of it! The landscape was beautiful, the people were lovely and the food was out of this world. I'm also pretty sure theres a limited amount of places were you can actively and freely hang out of a moving train without looking crazy!

Kyoto, Japan
Japan was on my travel list since childhood & going alone was actually a goal of mine! Most people who go to Japan typically concentrate on going to Tokyo however, I actually went to 3 cities (Kyoto, Kobe and Osaka) and didn't prioritize Tokyo at all. While Tokyo is still a travel goal of mine, the safety and cleanliness of the other cities was unmatched. Traveling solo, as a woman especially, it is so important to feel safe and Kyoto did NOT disappoint!

Mui Ne, Vietnam
Mui Ne, is a coastal fishing town in the south-central Bình Thuan Province of Vietnam. I always do a lot of research before traveling, especially solo and when I came across the pictures of the sand dunes I couldn't resist going! Little known fact about Mui Ne, is that it's the city known for the origination of fish sauce. The 4 hour train ride from Saigon was super worth it! I stayed in a 5 star hotel for $50 a night and I felt like a millionaire the entire trip. In addition to the sand dunes (red & white), the fairy stream, Prince's castle, fishing village and the beachfront resorts all make this town worth visiting!

Jaipur, India
Oh India, I had so much fun here but as a woman before I even dive in I think its important to note that personally I don't think this country would've made my list for solo travel purposes without me having a personal driver. I had a personal driver and a tour guide for 3 days for about $205 and it was worth every penny! I highly suggest and recommend hiring a driver as it made the experience seamless. India is overpopulated and due to this its very easy to get lost in a crowd. However, once your get through the crowds and into the AMAZING restaurants your palette alone will make you realize how wonderful India really is.

Maafushi, Maldives
Maldives, practically one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Technically, Maldives almost didn't make my list not because it's not amazing but because I'm a bit conflicted in my thinking of whether or not its an ideal "solo" trip! When you hear Maldives you often think of a couples trip or at the very least a trip with friends. I was actually the only person I met while there that was traveling solo aside from a British flight attendant. I actually also went there on Valentine's Day weekend which probably makes going alone even more "sad" to some but I honestly couldn't have been happier to be there. The white sand beaches, the peace I felt, the people I interacted with and the amazing weather made me embrace so much of myself on this trip! It's definitely not the cheapest place to go by far but if you're in need of a pick me up and a life of luxury don't even think twice about going here!
